Highly efficient, net shape polymer injection molding process includes the following:
- Formulation, compounding, and extrusion of polymer pellets
- Drying, then melting of the polymer pellets
- Shear and compression of the injection molding machine screw to liquefy the polymer at high pressure
- Injection of molten polymer at high pressure (5,000-20,000 PSI) into mold tooling
- Cooling and ejection of molded polymer components
